What personal data we collect and why
Contact forms. When you submit a contact form, we collect the information you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number, and message) so we can respond to your inquiry. We retain these submissions for [e.g., 24 months] and do not use them for marketing without your consent.
Membership and directory profiles. Professionals who join our directory provide information for their public profile (name, credentials, contact details, photo, practice information). This information is displayed publicly on our site so the public can find and contact you. You can view, edit, or request deletion of your profile at any time; site administrators can also see and edit it. You cannot change your username.
Member accounts. When you register or log in, we store your account credentials and profile information. See “Cookies” below for the login cookies we set.
Media. If you upload images, avoid images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors can download and extract that data.
Analytics. We use analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. These tools may collect information like pages visited, approximate location, device, and browser.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience; these last one year.
When you visit the login page we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we set cookies to save your login and display preferences. Login cookies last two days and screen-option cookies last one year; “Remember Me” extends login persistence to two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies. Editing or publishing a post saves an additional cookie (no personal data, just the post ID) that expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the site — for example, our hosting provider, email service, and an automated spam-detection service for comments — and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we retain your data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments. For registered users, we store the profile information provided until the account is deleted. Contact form submissions are retained for [time period].
